We are REALLY looking forward to welcoming you all to Christmas at the Barn on Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd December 2012. It is going to be a wonderful event guaranteed to kick start your festive season in style with the perfect balance of stalls to purchase beautiful seasonal gifts.

See you on Saturday from 10am. The event will officially be opened by Frome Mayor Pippa Goldfinger, how exciting! We have a great big gold ribbon waiting to be cut!

A little something for the weekend?


Want to come to kick start your festive season in style? Want to browse & the beautiful Artisan handmade products & gifts? Want to soak up the festive atmosphere at  Christmas at the Barn 2012 THIS WEEKEND (1st & 2nd December) but are not local to the event?  Then why not make a weekend of it?

Christmas at the Barn is held in the beautiful 14th Century Tithe Barn in the equally beautiful village of Mells, Nr Frome Somerset.  The area around Mells is of outstanding beauty and there is so much to do and see with lots of lovely places to stay too.  Here is a quick whistle stop tour with lots of links to entice you to come along!

Why not come for both days of Christmas at the Barn. In and around the Frome, Bath area there is a wealth of beautiful hotels & guest house for all tastes, budgets & needs. Ranging from the very lovely Babington House (part of the Soho House Group) to small country house B&Bs. Have a look or get in contact with the Frome Tourist information board for more information on accommodation or please do drop us an email & we will be more than happy to recommend somewhere to you.

1. Frome - Historic Market town with unique shopping experience including Catherine's Hill & Cheap Street. Frome has a vibrant atmosphere and plenty of lovely cafes & pubs too.

2. Wells. - Wells is the smallest city in England. It is a charming little city with plenty of cafes & shops to entice you. Edamay's favorite part of Wells is the beautiful, magnificent Wells Cathedral - approx 10 miles away from Christmas at the Barn.

3. Nunney - the beautiful village of Nunney is approx 3 miles from Christmas at the Barn. Nunney has a beautiful castle managed by English Heritage, a lovely pub, cafe and a flock of ever hungry ducks.

4. Bath - A beautiful city with breath taking Georgian buildings, museums a plenty, the Pump Rooms, Abbey & Therma Spa. Theatres & if you need more festive delights the Bath Christmas Market

Just 6 days to go until Christmas at the Barn 2012


Just 6 days to go until Christmas at the Barn 2012. We can't wait to welcome you to this truly unique event. We guarantee you will leave with a festive spring in your step & bags bursting with beautiful, unique gifts & seasonal delights.


Here are some interesting facts about Christmas at the Barn to get you even more excited about coming along.

* Christmas at the Barn is a TWO day event on SATURDAY 1st & SUNDAY 2nd December 2012

* The event is held in the amazingly beautiful & atmospheric 14th century Tithe Barn in the equally beautiful village of Mells,  BA11 3PN (for sat nav)

* Admission to both days is FREE of charge.  Save your pennies for buying beautiful, unique gifts & seasonal treats.

* There will be a different mix of 21 stalls on both days with a total of 40 stall holders in all over the weekend. Products for sale will include: locally sourced & produced festive foods, cakes, chocolates, preserves, plants, Christmas wreaths, cards, toys, homewares, soft furnishings, ceramics, paintings, prints, jewellery & accessories, stocking fillers, textiles, craft kits & so MUCH more!

* Some stalls will be attending both days while other stalls will be filled with different stalls on each day of the event. So come along to one day or both days!

* Most stalls will only accept cash or cheque (no cards) so make sure you bring lots of pennies.  There is a post office in Mells which offers cash withdrawals for some banks.

* There will be plenty of festive activities for children: make your own Christmas decorations, lucky dip, Christmas colouring, face painting and much, much, more

* On Saturday morning Frome Mayor Pippa Goldfinger will be officially opening the event.

* There will be a Raffle with a difference.  All prizes on the raffle are donated by the stall holders. An item they will be selling on the day.  All the prizes are beautiful & all money from the raffle will go to the Ruby Lambert Trust & Positive Action on Cancer.

* Yummy refreshments will be available all day including: hot soup, sandwiches, cakes, mince pies, mulled wine, tea & coffee. Relax & refuel after you have finished your shopping!

* The beautiful flyers & posters where originally designed by the talented Kate for the first Christmas at the Barn in 2010 from www.boxofbirds.com and modified for this years event by Nick - they have done a fantastic job.  5000 of the lovely flyers were printed. Have you got one yet?

* Christmas at the Barn is organized by Rebecca Larsen of www.edamay.com. Driven by her passion for quality British handmade and love of the festive season!  This event is a true celebration of British handmade & the festive season and an opportunity to raise money for charity. Her mission is simple: to spread a little festive cheer!

On both the Saturday 1st & 2nd Decemver seasonal refreshments will be served all day from 10am until 5pm.  So come browse the stalls, kick start your festive season in style and stop for a while in the cafe area.
The menu for the weekend includes freshly made:

Leek and Potato Soup served with a Bread roll

Spicy Tomato and Lentil Soup served with a Bread roll

Mulled Wine, 
A selection of teas and coffees,
Hot Chocolate and a selection of soft drinks
Delicious Cakes including: 
Victoria Sponge, Lemon Drizzle, Chocolate Fudge, Freshly Baked Scones & Mince Pie

What a generous bunch!


Now, I always knew that the 2012 Christmas at the Barn Stall holders were a very talented bunch. All designing & making their wares locally here in the Southwest but what I didn't realise was what a GENEROUS bunch they all are too! Just look at some of the FANTASTIC prizes that can be won at Christmas at the Barn's charity raffle.  There will be 20 gorgeous prizes on the raffle on each day. All prizes are a product from the Stall Holders' range also available to buy on the day. All the prizes are very lovely. It is guaranteed you will want to win them all!

Tickets will be for sale on each day of the event for just £1.  All proceeds from the raffle will be going divided between two very worthwhile causes the Ruby Lambert Trust & Positive Action For Cancer
